Hart to Host Philly Fourth-of-July Jam

Alright! Alright! Alright!

Guess who’s hosting this year’s Philly Fourth of July Jam-- the free concert on the Ben Franklin Parkway that helps cap off the city’s annual Wawa Welcome America! festivities? Philly’s own Kevin Hart.

Tuesday’s VH-1 press release also noted that the The Roots will again serve as musical curators and play their own set and perform with special guests John Mayer, Jill Scott, Demi Lovato, Ne-Yo, Grace Potter and J. Cole.

“We are excited to bring Kevin back home to Philly to host the ‘Largest Free Concert’ event in America,” Executive Producer Shawn Gee said in the release. “With Kevin, The Roots and Jill Scott, the show will definitely have a Philly flair to it. However with the other great talent on the show, this is guaranteed to be the best Philly Fourth-of-July show ever.”

And with VH1 as a partner this year, “the entire country will be able to experience the annual party we have been throwing for 500,000 of our closest friends on the Ben Franklin Parkway each year” Gee said.

Happy birthday to us!
