Tyree Pickron, a Quinnipeac recruit, is ready to take Archbishop Wood to the Catholic League playoffs. The 6’4” forward missed some games earlier in the year for the 2017 Catholic League and 5A PIAA state champions, but is playing well for the Vikings now. He scores 16 points and grabs 6 rebounds a game. Wood is 10-4 overall and 4-2 in the tough Catholic League.

“Our season is starting to pick up after a rocky start,” he said. “We have won three in a row. This year, the league is probably the strongest because everyone is so equal, it’ll turn out to be a great finish. Me getting injured, I feel like was only for the better. I feel much more comfortable on the court, I even feel more athletic.” About playing all these great teams like Neumann-Goretti, Archbishop Carroll, Roman Catholic, and Monsignor Bonner: “It’s a mental and physical challenge depending on whom you are playing. Some schools like Father Judge, I think, are mental challenges while others like Neumann will be way more of a physical one.”
