Benefit roast skewers local sports personalities

On June 16, nearly 400 friends and fans turned out to the Crystal Tea Room for Joe Conklin’s Philly Sports Roast to watch area luminaries share anecdotes about Howard Eskin and Angelo Cataldi. The sports radio & TV personalities faced blistering abuse from colleagues, athletes, two Philadelphia mayors and each other.  The ribald commentary was all for a good cause. The event benefitted Philly Coaches vs. Cancer and the Astra Zeneca Hope Lodge.
