A feast along the Schuylkill’s west bank

Les Dames d’Escoffier Philadelphia hosted their annual Summer Garden Party at the Farm at Bartram’s Garden. Nearly 200 guests from the local culinary world, associates of Bartram’s Garden and friends gathered on July 20 to enjoy a feast prepared by chefs, who were assisted by the Farm’s youth interns. The produce served came from the Farm at Bartram’s Garden, and was prepared the day earlier at The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College. There was also a silent auction to benefit the Farm at Bartram’s Garden.

Welcome America

Philadelphia’s annual celebration was better than ever

On July 4th weekend, the 6-day Wawa Welcome America festival culminated with a grand finale on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The Queen of Hip Hop, Mary J. Blige performed along with the Philly POPS BIG Band. The city also honored Philly’s own Boyz II Men with a citation, and then the guys entertained the crowd. The night ended with fireworks over the Parkway.

This new therapy hotspot is cold

Cryo Myst Therapy Lounge celebrated their grand opening of Philadelphia’s only cryo lounge with a “Frozen Bubbles” themed party on June 22, 2017. The facility is located at 1528 Walnut St., right in the heart of Rittenhouse Square. The cryo chambers get down to temperatures of -185º and gloves are needed to prevent frostbite. Supporters of the Philadelphia Veterans Comfort House step up

Toll Man Joe’s hosted a fundraiser to support the newly re-established Philadelphia Veterans Comfort House. More than 300 supporters of the project came out to enjoy a beef and beer. Entertainment was provided by the Mummers and several other bands, at the afternoon event. Philadelphia Veterans Comfort House provides food, shelter and benefits guidance to veterans.
