Bowie theme was intermingled with highlights from the upcoming season

On September 15, 2016, Music Director Michael Krajewski and the Philly POPS orchestra celebrated the 2016/2017 season with the Fourth Annual POPS Ball, at the Hyatt at the Bellevue. Over 250 POPS supporters enjoyed a night of dinner and dancing with the full 65-piece POPS orchestra. The theme for the evening was “Let’s Dance” and there was a special orchestral arrangement of David Bowie’s song “Let’s Dance” for the occasion with professional dancers welcoming the guests into the grand Bellevue Ballroom.

The Ultimate Summer Cookout Fills the Piazza

The Piazza at Schmidt’s Commons, 1001 N 2nd St, recently hosted The Ultimate Summer Cookout. The brand new event featured free admission and was the perfect way to end the summer. Attendees enjoyed themselves with food, drinks, lawn games, sandpits, and open-air shopping. The brave among the crowd soared above everyone’s heads on a zip line that traveled the length of the open public space.

The Philadelphia Zoo held its annual Zoo Summer Ale Festival on July 16. Nearly 1,000 guests enjoyed the zoo after hours for an adults-only party featuring local craft beer, live music and delicious food from the area’s best food trucks. The zoo exhibits were also open for guests to enjoy.
